Matching the right house with the right owner – that's what it's all about. Tom has actively owned, built and managed residential properties in the area for more than 30 years. With a keen interest in residential construction and a formal education in engineering, Tom brings a unique and practical skillset to each property negotiation.
Intent on providing the best possible customer service for his clients, Tom is knowledge-driven and totally client-focused. Equally comfortable in the office and at building sites, Tom is adept at fielding and solving a broad range of property issues as they occur. Here is what some of his clients have to say:
"As a busy executive with limited time, Tom was the perfect fit broker."
There is absolutely no other broker I would ever consider using! Tom gets my unequivocal and highest recommendation. Tom possesses an impressive knowledge of the area as well as invaluable expertise on build quality, engineering, and other intangibles I wouldn't even think to consider before purchasing a home. His style is no-pressure and he took the time to really learn what was important to me in a home. He made me feel at ease during the entire process and I completely trust him when it comes to evaluating a home.
"Tom's background in house building/development, his local knowledge of the best contractors, his balanced assessment of the house construction…helped us make an analytical framework to assess the pros/cons of the various properties we saw (which was over 50 across every community in the Hamptons)."
"Ultimately, we believe Tom's advice helped us make a sound investment that our family will value for many years. We highly recommend Tom as he makes the whole transaction seamless and makes you a smarter buyer."
"His local knowledge of the area was second to none in my years of working with brokers."
"Tom truly went above and beyond (I mean really did!) and aligned the various parties whether other brokers, lawyers, inspectors, etc. far more effectively than I could have myself. I can honestly say that Tom is a rare broker who combines strong competence in all the necessary areas with a sincere and patient approach to clients."
"I was fortunate to be introduced to Tom. He truly made the difference. Important to note that even through negotiations, he maintained decorum, and the appropriate temperament, which resulted in the right deal all around."
Tom grew up in "The Lanes" of Amagansett when there were more potato fields than homes. After graduating from Tufts University, Tom and his wife moved to California, where he worked as a civil engineer and building contractor for several large design-build firms. As a program manager, he oversaw construction projects for a variety of private, municipal and federal clients. Tom returned to the East End in 2004 to become the managing partner and general contractor for a custom-home-building joint venture. Known for his attention to detail and ability to execute, Tom later joined a private property development team in Amagansett, where he worked as the owner's representative for a variety of high-end residential and commercial development projects.
In 2008, Tom accepted a position as head of facilities and manager of stadium operations for a football (soccer) club in England. There, he oversaw multiple multi-million GBP stadium renovation projects and developed key management initiatives and relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies to deliver a comprehensive facilities program for the business. After 6 years on this overseas assignment, Tom returned to the East End in February 2014 – with a focus of applying his knowledge to the local real estate industry.
During his downtime, Tom enjoys finding a quiet spot to surf and enjoy the water and the natural beauty of the East End. Those special in his life include his two children, his wife whom he has known since grade school – and the friendships that have developed over the years with his clients and associates in the business
