John P. Lycke is a proud Montauk native who comes from a long family heritage of Montauk residents that extends from his father to his grandfather. Though his studies and career took him to New York City where he lived for many years, John always returned home to Montauk on weekends, and ultimately moved back to his favorite community to raise his child there.
After working on Wall Street, John gained extensive real estate experience in NYC converting rental buildings to cooperatives, honing his transactional, legal and financial knowledge. A licensed real estate broker since 1988, he took over his family’s highly successful property management business upon moving back to Montauk, and spent over 11 years as an exclusive buyer’s agent in the Hamptons closing an impressive number of deals. He has a very deep and comprehensive understanding of all Zoning and Planning issues from his 10 years as a member of the East Hampton Town Planning board where he rose to the Position of chairman. John recently joined his wife Liz Lycke at Corcoran’s Montauk office to extend his service to clients on the listing side.
What has always distinguished John aside from his sales savvy, business acumen and client service excellence is his staunch commitment to honesty, transparency and integrity in all his dealings. He deeply believes that clients deserve nothing less from a professional in any service business, particularly real estate where there one’s quality of life and investment potential are at stake.
John is a graduate of Colorado State University. He loves spending time with his family and Golden Retriever outside of work, and has coached every possible team his son has participated in over the years. John also enjoys playing golf, snow skiing and traveling.
